Plateau State Commandant OPSH Maj. Gen. Anthony Atolagbe Redeployed By Defense Hqtrs

Since the confirmation that the Defence Headquarters has redeployed the Plateau State Commandant, Joint Task Force code named ‘Operation Safe Haven’, Maj. Gen. Anthony Atolagbe to the Defence Headquarters with immediate effect, palpable worry has shown on the faces of beleaguered Plateau citizens facing onslaught from Fulani herdsmen militia.
He is to resume work at the Defence Headquarters as Director of Campaign Planning.
Maj. Gen. Atolagbe is being replaced by Major General Augustine Chris Chukwudi Agundu.

MAJOR GENERAL AUGUSTINE CHRIS CHUKWUDI AGUNDU HAS BEEN APPOINTED COMMANDER OPERATION SAFE HAVEN JOS
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin has approved the appointment of Major General Augustine Chris Chukwudi Agundu as the Commander, Operation Safe Haven. He is to take over from Major General Anthony Atolagbe who has been redeployed to Defence Headquarters and appointed Director of Campaign Planning.
The posting which takes immediate effect is in order to reinvigorate Operation Safe Haven to meet contemporary challenges.

Commentators on the sidelines and far from the theatre of insurgency however agree that changes are necessary to bring another impetus or perspective to bear on the war against insurgency and ethnic cleansing on the Plateau. That is aside from giving other Generals a chance to prove their mettle.
