The young energetic, vibrant and goal getting first female Prime Minister in Italy, Giorgia Meloni has sent a very heartwarming message to the grandparents of Italy.

She wrote on X (Twitter) at a time grandfathers who insist on taking turns by grabbing political party tickets to rule Nigeria even from male wards in hospitals abroad, because they cannot provide good medical services for the Nigerian people at home, or even make Nigerian doctors agree to stay and provide services in the country, have turned the airports of Europe into revolving doors as they tour and stay for prolonged lengths of time in Europe, thus:

There are people who accompany us throughout our lives. Even when they are no longer here.

They live on in the words we use, in the gestures we repeat sometimes without realizing it, in the memories that come back to mind in the most important moments. They remain in what they taught us with their love, their example, and their stories.

Grandparents are this: a fundamental part of our roots, our history, and who we have become.

To all the grandparents of Italy, to those we still have the fortune to embrace and to those we continue to feel beside us, forever.
Happy Grandparents’ Day.

Italian ‘Far Right’ Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni that leads the nationalist Brothers of Italy Party and heads the country’s most right-wing government since World War II had this to say about Africa:

“Africa is a continent of extraordinary talent, energy and hope.”

“Its greatest wealth is not in its soil but in its children. We must invest”.

Recall that she was the first to lecture the French President, Emmanuel Macron about the malapropism in lecturing Italy on the issue of the flood of refugees from Africa including African leaders in Europe, because France used to exploit the uranium in Niger Republic, which significantly powers electricity supply in parts of France while Niger Republic remains in pitch darkness. So why won’t the African people flood Europe when what is theirs is exploited and exported to France?

Real food for thought, one would say.

Meanwhile, it’s observed that the tone and sensitivity in what she says is markedly different from the campaign noise in Nigeria heading to elections in the first quarter of 2027.

Their argument is about subsidies on petrol, when Europe has long since transitioned from fossil fuel pumps to CNG public buses and now into electric vehicles.

As a public affairs analyst, I slid into the Italian mood and responded warmly to @Giorgia Meloni:

This is touching, @giorgia ,you can bet that I love this. I’m a grandfather.

Thank you.

Questo mi commuove molto, @giorgia, puoi starne certa che lo apprezzo tanto. Sono un nonno. Grazie.

Happy Grandparents day to all grandparents in Nigeria.
