The nationality of the female expatriate killed in a recreational resort called Kajuru Castle in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State has been revealed by the Nigerian police.
“Continued efforts are still on course to rescue the kidnapped victims and bring the perpetrators to book.
“The slain expatriate lady Miss Faye Mooney is identified to be a Briton.
“She was a staff of Mercy Corps Nigeria.
“Investigation into the incident is in progress please,” Spokesperson of the Police Kaduna State Command DSP Yakubu Sabo, confirmed in a short text.
Some suspected kidnappers armed with dangerous weapons on Saturday, gained entry into a recreational resort called Kajuru Castle in Kajuru LGA, shooting sporadically and in the process shot dead two persons including the expatriate lady and took away three others.
The second victim has also been confirmed by a relation to be Mathew Danjuma, a Nigerian from Kogi State, who was said to have returned from Belgium two weeks ago.
Investigation later revealed that the victims along with 12 others came from Lagos on tourism after which they organised a party at the Castle located at the Hill Top during which the incident happened.
“Normally, whenever such social events would happen, the organisers used to inform the police for security coverage, but the party was done without the knowledge of the police in the area as traditionally done,” the police said.
Analysts have asked that since Kajuru keeps ringing bells as a flashpoint for killings and kidnappings, should there not be proactive and regular police patrols in Kajuru and environs?
