Power Grab: Imagine What Rushing To Donate Blood By Atiku, Tambuwal, Gumi At Owo Would’ve Done Against Banditry

Bamooo of Africa @paybami donates blood at Owo Federal Medica Centre. Gestures like this would shock the suspected Fulani terrorists at the measure of empathy. But would power hungry politicians copy what even Yasser Arafat did as a strong message to terrorists?

If you really want to understand the concept of stubborn refusal to share power by any tribal group with any other group, come to Nigeria and study the Machiavellian acts of it’s politicians. They plot far ahead to plant themselves in nascent political parties and all they think of is grabbing power for it’s own sake.

It doesn’t matter how they serve mostly when they obtain the power. But certainly, it is usually, service with a monumental lack of distinction. They won’t take power for the good of the society or to lift it to a higher level.
No.
It is Power to entrench their benefits, opportunities and enlightened self and parochial group interest.

But it is very easy to know why they do this.

Take the negatively trending St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo massacre where scores of worshippers were brutally gunned down.

Fulani bandits in the bushes of Ondo state had been behaving badly, not only in Ondo state but all over the South West and the rest of Nigeria, including in the north that they invaded over 200 years ago. Because they alone feel entitled to carry automatic weapons around, ostensibly to protect themselves and their cows, they have been finding other uses for their guns to rob, kidnap for ransom and also kill.

From the experience of the Methodist Church Prelate who was kidnapped last week, according to him by Fulani bandits (some of them born in Igbo land and speak the local language) are being protected by suspected Fulani military officers. It was just his say so anyway. Thus not a very strong evidence that impartial analysts can ascertain with evidence. Although, what everyone else thinks or believes is hidden in their hearts.

The feeling of self smug entitlement is bolstered by the pampering that goes with benignity.

Atiku Abubakar has rightly condemned the massacre by bandits suspected to be Fulani wrought upon the innocent and unsuspecting Owo Catholic Church worshippers by executing them because they have sophisticated weapons.

From the comfort of his office, the tweets came out.

See Atiku’s political statement on security:

That is if Buhari’s own wasn’t even more flowery and elegant, yet caging the bandits remains elusive.

A regular radio talk show analyst recently delved into what he called the hidden agenda of the northern political elite towards cornering presidential slots.

He further stated that he does not see “Buhari handing over to a Southern President… going by the body language of Mr President, for all the appointments and decisions have shown beyond reasonable doubts that President Buhari is the northern President of Nigeria.

” The northern elites have shown consistently that the welfare and political relevance of the zone is superior to any Nigerian Dream or agenda. Retaining power in the North unites these people irrespective of partisan divides. The military and security agencies seem to have bought fully into this agenda because about 90% of the security architecture are headed by northerners”.

“Both the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leaders of northern extraction have the same agenda. Which is to retain the Presidency in the North but unfortunately, our southern leaders in both parties are too selfish to read between the lines”.

The question is, why ?

Definitely it is for the protection of their selfish interests and agenda.

Same way South African Boers felt under Apartheid. They were thus brutal in the execution of Apartheid policies out of fear that a democratically elected by the majority may punish the perpetrators of Apartheid policies. Thus when Nelson Mandela, a man that they had incarcerated for 27 years became president, many White South Africans started migrating away from the land where they were born.

Luckily for democracy and humanity, there was world class reconciliation, those children of wicked oppressors and that of the oppressed became united in a rainbow coalition to build South Africa, the biggest Economy in Africa.

Since dastardly events occurred Sunday morning, one of the foremost image makers for Atiku Abubakar tweeted, begging Nigerians around Owo to proceed to the Federal Medical Center, Owo and donate blood to save lives of those who were between life and death. He was willing to offer 5,000 Naira to each donor.

Apostle Suleiman from neighboring Edo State offered one million naira as added encouragement.

Just assuming that instead of those tweets, Atiku Abubakar, Sheikh Gumi, Aminu Tambuwal all did a symbolic trip to the FMC, Owo to donate blood, condemn unbridled massacres nationwide with their photos on the hospital couches there doing the donation, the murderers would definitely see it. It won’t be long before their morbid propensity would begin to decline. Evil would begin to retreat. Fulani herders staying in the forests would look slightly tolerable as long as they give up kidnapping, and Nigeria would be built.

See, late Yasser Arafat did exactly that when a murder too many happened in the US. It brought some healing between the Israelis, USA and Palestinians.

Show some grandness, Fulani politicians and let’s solve this problem.
