Power Rotation: Atiku’s Argument On Where Power Has Not Rotated To, Gets Answers From Shehu Sani And Wike

Atiku visits to commission a project built under Wike in Rivers State.

Distinguished personalities are often in Rivers State to commission projects executed by Gov.Nyesom Wike. Nigeria’s former Vice president, Atiku Abubakar commissions one project.

Bukola Saraki, son of late Dr. Olusola Saraki the late strongman of Kwara politics, savvy fixer of who should be who in Kwara has given reasons why they, the quartet of himself, Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, Aminu Tambuwal and perhaps in ‘diplomatical’ absentia, Atiku Abubakar are in search of a consensus PDP presidential candidate.

This same quartet happens to be from one North, one tribe, one religion and one creed, wanting to find a consensus candidate for all of Nigeria. Coming at a time that the din of clamours all point to having a PDP presidential candidate from the South East, even though everyone has the right to contest, either old or young.

Another curious fact about the threesome in the forefront, also want to be president of Nigeria because the PDP has not fulfilled it’s quota of time spent at Aso Rock.
That is also not minding the fact that the current president, Muhammadu Buhari is from their own slant of the nation.

How diffused is power in the north ?

Hausa born ex senator Shehu Sani is of the opinion that whenever a group says power should go to the North, only one tribe benefits and it is not the largely Hausa tribe nor the minority Christian tribes who are now finding it hard to be either deputy governors or Senators.

It’s an injustice.

He tweets:

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, while declaring on Sunday his ambition to run for president in 2023, launched an attack against some top leaders of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who at some point defected from the PDP before eventually returning to the party. Actually those that defected happens to be this same quartet that teamed up with APC to make Goodluck Jonathan lose badly. So badly that the quiet gentleman conceded before the results were out.

They are back to the PDP.

Although Mr Wike did not mention any name in his remarks, he was apparently referring to the likes of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, who have all indicated their intention to contest next year’s presidential election.

“Let these people who are interested in the presidency through PDP tell us their contributions. You claimed to be one of the founding fathers of the party, but you left and came back; you have become an ordinary person in the new PDP.

“If you form a company and run away because the company is not doing well, then you come back and find that it is now doing well, will you want to come and take over?” Mr Wike said at Government House Makurdi, in the presence of Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue and other PDP chieftains whom he went to consult over his ambition.

Continuing, Governor Wike said, “In 2015, those who ran away made us lose the election. Today, they are crying but some of us stood and said PDP will not die.

“By the time you ran away, you sold your share as founding fathers, so you can no longer retain your position as founding fathers. I stood for this party. I worked for this party since 1998. I have nowhere to run to and that’s why anything that happens to this party, I take it personally. I have never relented.”

Wike is the highly influential PDP governor of Oil rich Rivers State. But the actual sentiments are resting with the South East, and the clamours on the streets are for Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State.
