Asue Ighodalo’s governorship ambition got a boost as the Executive Chairman of Etsako East Local Government continues her regular distribution of the Benedicta’s Market Women Money, sponsored by a United Kingdom based Surgeon, Dr. Uyi Igbinadolor.

The chairman, Princess Benedicta Attoh has distributed financial support at the Imiekuri market in Okpella on Saturday and also visited the Ebelle Market in North Ivie on Tuesday in continuation of her regular Benedicta’s market Women Money distribution scheme.



The financial support is geared towards boosting the financial capacity in business for women in the area as a way of helping many exit poverty through market productivity.




The Council Chairman who was overwhelmed by the mammoth crowd of women on her arrival, lamented the hunger and hardship inflicted on Nigerians by the APC-led federal government, pledging to continue her regular financial support for women.



She called on them to pray for the donor of the fund Dr. Uyi Igbinadolor who has constantly supported her in reaching out to market Women. She particularly extended gratitude to Chief (Sir) Tonna Okei whom she described as the brain behind the financial support, calling him “a brother and a good mediator”.



While addressing the women at the Imiekuri markets in Okpella and Ebelle respectively, Princess Benedicta Attoh waxed emotional, as she spoke in her local dialect.

“I am here today as one of you. I have experienced hardship and suffering at various stages of my life as a young girl and as a mother. I understand your pain and I know what women are going through.The burden of the home is on you. By God’s grace, I will stand with you now and always. Do not be discouraged and do not give up. Soon, and very soon, all of this hardship would be a thing of the past” she promised.



The LG Boss, who distributed financial assistance of 5,000 naira each to 40 (Forty) petty traders selling vegetables, pure water, ice fish, cooked and roasted corn, groundnuts, biscuits at the Ebelle Market where she urged them to add the money to their daily business for additional income.



It would be recalled that the Council Chairman and representative of Dr. Uyi Igbinadolor had earlier visited the Agenebode main market where several women were empowered with 10,000 naira each amidst her constant hosting of widows in Ward 10 in Okpekpe where she regularly distributes food items like rice, garri, yam etc to the widows.



In a related development, Princess Benedicta Attoh, on Tuesday took the message of the Edo State PDP Governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo and his Deputy Osarodion Ogie to various communities and markets across the council just as she distributed PDP Campaign materials, lauding Asue Ighodalo as “educated, knowledgeable, exposed, and enlightened about governance with a brilliant and a listening Deputy Governor Barr. Osarodion Ogie who is one of the most experienced politicians and human resources of inestimable value in Edo State”.


“The duo would use their knowledge and experience to move Edo to a preferred destination”, she concluded.
