On January 20, 2025 when President Donald Trump would be inaugurated as the president of the United States of America, there would first be a Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Washington DC.

Prayers are usually intertwined with Praise and it would be gospel music praise. And as a demonstration of how gospel music in Nigeria has fully joined the international gospel music circuit, Nigeria’s own gospel artiste Nathaniel Bassey would be one of the acts on stage.

And this is no mean feat as the artist is the only one said to have been invited from Africa.

The arts has really been making Nigeria proud and the nation has good production and international circulation that includes good endorsements from global icons to thank, as well as thanks to the Almighty.

Born in 1981 (44 years old this year), Nathaniel Bassey is an Akwa Ibom state born Nigerian singer, Youth pastor, trumpeter and gospel song writer popular for his songs Imela, Onise Iyanu and Olowogbogboro.

Over the years, Bassey has established himself as one of the prominent and most listened to gospel ministers in Nigeria, according to Wikipedia.

Recognition in the US is not to be taken lightly as the most widely known music capital of the world with artists becoming not only millionaires but also billionaires in the entirety of the music value chain.

He easily joins the ranks of phenomenal gospel music artiste like Sinach whose Way Maker song climbed to No.1 in the Gospel Music chart in the US topping Billboard’s Christian Airplay Chart (for two weeks) with over 18 million people viewing a live audio version on YouTube (more than half a million listened to the radio version in 2020.

America would be warming up to Nathaniel Bassey on Inauguration Day, and perhaps beyond because of the phenomenal singing prowess of the born singer.
