Scandalized Imo State Govt Rescues Trafficked Under Age Imo Girls From Sex Traffickers
Nigerians were highly scandalized to watch a video of a group of 16 year old girls from Imo state who were lured into prostitution in Ghana on social media, a country with a comatose economy whose government borrowed so much money from Nigerian banks operating in Ghana and they couldn’t pay, causing the banks to declare losses in 2022, just two years ago.
That is the same country whose horny men sleep with underage Nigerian girls for pittance.
Whereas many years ago it was Ghanaian girls that filled Nigerian dinghy hotels prostituting for cash because the West African country had a comatose economy and its problems were endemic.
It was so bad in Ghana that whenever their ministers visited Nigeria for any official function, they’d delay the plane that brought them so they could buy provisions from Nigerian super markets that would include toilet paper because their industries had ceased functioning.
Prostitution became a fall back leisure economy for their girls while their men shined shoes. After having gone round the bend, now they owe Nigerian banks in millions of dollars to prop up their unstable economy. Discovery of oil has not helped it to lift it’s game yet.
The Imo State Government therefore sent a delegation led by Rt. Hon Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, the Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly and the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Mrs Nkechi Ugwu to Accra, capital city of Ghana where they rescued the vulnerable children from the captivity of traffickers.
Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma gave them a marching order not to return to Nigeria without the children and true to that, the trafficked girls were all rescued and on their way back home for rehabilitation.
