The member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency of Plateau state, Hon. Barr I. D. Gyang has placed smiles on the faces of three hundred students just as he described Students as the constituency he holds in high esteem with the desire to uplift their standards.

Hon. Gyang disclosed this, Saturday, during the Students Education Enhancement and Scholarship Award presentation and 3rd Anniversary of his constituency briefing. He expressed his desire to celebrate students who are committed to their studies.

He said at the moment, about 300 students from his constituency have benefited from the Scholarship award and he intends to expand the scope before 2019 to accommodate many more deserving students.

He said the beneficiaries are students studying in various institutions of higher
learning in Nigeria and abroad, ranging from PHD, Masters and Undergraduate programmes.

He said his desire to seek the mandate to represent his people is to give them quality representation, saying that has so far been manifested from the number of bills he has sponsored in the House of Representatives soon after he was elected three years ago.

According to him, the most recent but critical to Nigerians is to create an act to ensure that the Federal Government of Nigeria, rehabilitates and reconstructs homes and people that have been destroyed as a result of violent extremism being perpetrated by Boko Haram and Fulani militia attackers.

“I made a strong case that the President can not implement the N10bn meant to rehabilitate communities devastated by violent crimes without visiting my constituency”

He said in the last three years he has also made significant marks in rural infrastructure, water and sanitation, education, health, security, among others, and appeal to his constituency not to indulge in cattle rustling, land grabbing or any act that can bring misunderstanding among the people.

He said, it is only in the atmosphere of peaceful coexistence that the state and the nation will move forward, stressing that he is committed to the wellbeing of the people, and that as 2019 draws closer he is hopeful that completing all the ongoing projects under his supervision would be a reality.

He charged his constituents to reason along with him and play progressively minded politics to ensuring that those elected in 2019 are people with integrity and democratically minded to build and nurture the society to the next level.

Goodwill messages came in from youths, students and the old who showered encomiums on the efforts of Hon Gyang towards liberating his people, and prayed God to take him to the next level.
