The Unpredictability Of Anambra Voters: Anambra Deputy Governor Decamping To APC, And Losing His Polling Unit To APGA

Up till last month, Dr. Nkem Okeke, Anambra deputy governor was in the ruling party, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Then suddenly, he changed parties by decamping to the All Progressive Congress (APC), ruling party at the Federal level.
Some say he switched sides to join Andy Uba of APC in the hope that his move would create a domino effect and pull votes to the candidate. There’s a second theory that he may have been planted there by APGA to spy on the inner workings of APC and play deep throat.
No one is sure.
Well, he seems to have lost his polling unit to APGA, his original party where he was deputy governor for about seven years and nine months approximately.
Figures of the poll results have been circulating online but we await the official announcements to be made by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, which says Ihiala supplementary votes would decide who the winner would be.
And of course, the Supreme Court.
It is obvious that the proud Anambra people want to retain APGA as a regional party that would maintain the identity of the Igbo people. They do not want the party to fizzle out.
