Prof. Aliyu Jauro, DG, NESREA
By Njeze Nwodo

So many people have been curious to find out who Professor Aliyu Jauro, the New DG NESREA is.

This interest heightened especially after the young professor’s appointment as the new Director General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency, NESREA by President Muhammadu Buhari.

As the question of who is Professor Aliyu Jauro is still being echoed in high crescendo in both low and high quarters, near and distant lands, I deemed it necessary to do a little Google research to bring to the public gallery, the profile and biography of the young and affable professor.

The most humble, friendly, self-effacing and visionary academic is a professor of Industrial Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.

Prof Aliyu Jauro was born in 1971 in his home state of Gombe. His area of specialization is well and adequately suited for the organization, NESREA that he has been appointed to. As a professor of Industrial Chemistry, he lectures at the Department of Chemistry in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.

He had his tertiary education at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi from
1989-1995, 1999-2002, 2002-2007, then
German National Centre for Geosciences
Research, (GeoForschungsZentrum), Potsdam, Germany, March-October 2005, Bench Work.

He was at Government Science Secondary School, Darazo 1985-1987 for his secondary education. His primary education was at Central Primary School, Gombe, from 1976 to 1982.

As some people were of the view that the true test of a man could only unfurl when he has academically achieved a great milestone, Professor Aliyu Jauro proved himself to be the last man standing, the self-effacing and visionary.

His fertile resumé disposes him to resonant leadership style at whatever level and I believe that is why President Muhammadu Buhari found him worthy to handle the affairs of NESREA.

A friendly professor Jauro always displays a friendly mood all the time and this has sort of shown in the achievements he has recorded so far.

With this calibre of person appointed to handle an organisation like NESREA, I firmly believe that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is set to move to the “Next Level”.
