The question that naturally arises from Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun state’s confirmation in his radio broadcast that there was an assassination attempt on his life is this: Why would anyone attempt to snuff life out of the leader of a people in a supposedly most peaceful state ?

Therefore in such a scenario as this, can one still sincerely say that Osun State is the most peaceful state in Nigeria?

Meanwhile reports indicate that in neighbouring Oyo State, a Commissioner and the Deputy Governor sleep outside, under tents with the #EndSars team. We are told that Governor Seyi Makinde impressed it on Soldiers to watch guard on the protesters in Ibadan against any evil or hijacking that could lead to assassination.

Whereas rumours have been flying on several internet handles that in the opposite, an unnamed Commissioner in Osun State was in the gap of negotiation with notorious thugs to disperse #EndSars protesters in Osun State.

How I wish, like the days of Justice Thomas Naron and Lawyer Kunle Kalejaiye, a call log analysis of the alleged thug can be detected by the security agencies to get to the root of the crisis in Osun State.

Tales of two different scenarios:

In Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, EndSars protesters are butchering cows. However in Osun State, sadly, EndSars team are being butchered by alleged government sponsored agents. Posterity beacons…

One important development that has also picked my personal interest is how the predecessor to Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has refused to offer any sympathy to his successor till now, despite his cry that there was an assassination attempt on his life. At least, publicly.

For everything that has happened in Osun State, the traditional press may have conspired thus leading to their muteness, but the APC should look inward.

Unfortunately, our State, Osun has lost the title of the most peaceful State in Nigeria.
