REMARKS MADE BY ADAMU ABUBAKAR BARDE KAGARKO ASPIRANT FOR THE OFFICE OF THE CHAIRMAN KAGARKO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA COUNCIL AT THE OFFICIAL DECLARATION OF MY ASPIRATION TO THE KAGARKO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA EXCO OF THE APC ON THE 11TH OF MARCH, 2018 AT KAGARKO.
Mr. Chairman,
Respected Exco Members,
Party Elders and Stalwarts,
Party Stakeholders,
Dedicated Party Members,
Well-wishers,
Gentlemen of the Press,
Distinguished Visitors,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Good afternoon.
It is with humility and respect that I stand before you and address you today to express my humble wish and desire to aspire for the Seat or Office of our Local Government Area Council Chairman.
I am aware of the enormity of the task, duties and responsibilities of the Office of the Local Government Area Council Chairman. I am also aware of the desire of our people to have or install a real people’s government at the Local Government Area level or the grassroots.
Indeed, the demands and challenges of our contemporary life as well as the search for development, call for united action among the people as well as resolute stand and action by our people.
In view of the fact that this gathering is not an elaborate campaign occasion, I cannot and should not be tempted to talk or speak out of context. I am to only express my desire, declare and make my intention known to the leadership and members of our great Party, my first constituency.
From now to the end of our campaign activities and other allied endeavours, I promise to be diligent, decent and decorous in all my actions, conducts and utterances. I promise to go about my aspiration in accordance with our tradition of respect, dignity, decorum, justice and fairness and within the ambit of the law.
I believe in the spirit of “politics without bitterness”. I promise not to be guilty of hate speech, foul language or sordid utterances, just as I promise to be an exemplary aspirant and a good ambassador of our popular Party.
Though I am here to declare and express my interest, wish and desire only, I hope I won’t be wrong to; here and now, seek and solicit your support also.
I believe with God on our side, our dreams can come to reality.
Distinguished Visitors, Ladies and Gentlemen, as I am not to say or talk much, I humbly and respectfully beg to close here.
