“Concerned Christians on the Plateau” Group have called on Christian members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to withdraw their membership from the APC due to the party’s refusal to pick a Christian running mate as its Vice presidential candidate.
Convener of the group, Rev. Bernard Kyenson gave the advice in Jos, during a press conference.
“Our Christian brothers who have been faithful and submissive to the APC as a party should immediately withdraw their membership from the party, since it did not value nor respect their religion,” he stated.
Rev. Kyenson stressed that, “APC has no respect for the Christian, therefore, none of it members should retain membership in the political party.”
The concerned Christians group used the forum and called on Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong to reject the offer given him by the APC to serve as the campaign Director General for its Presidential candidate.

“In this regard, we are calling on Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong, to reject the offer, as we the Plateau Christians will not support him in this suspicious engagement.”
According to the group, Governor Lalong had indicated interest in deputizing Tinubu, but was rejected on the basis of credibility.
“The APC had rejected picking him for the position of the Vice Presidential candidate based on competence, then now turn around to make him seek votes for the party,” the group explained.
The group, therefore, said; “we are also expressing surprise that the party that dose not value a Christian to attract votes in the position of a vice presidential candidate would suddenly turn and appoint a Christian as its campaign director general.”
Convener of the group, however, noted that they are not members of any political party, however, as concerned Christians they will protect the interest of their faith.
They said they will mobilize its strength in ensuring that Christians vote against APC, because it does not have respect for the faith, hence the resolve to reject the party.
Speaking on the pending signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jaiz Bank to rebuild the burnt Jos Main Market, the Concerned Christians in Plateau state, said the gesture was aimed at selling out the entire economy of the state to Islam; the group insisted that they will resist any attempt in signing the purported MoU.
The group commended the Member, House of Representatives for Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Musa Bagos, for stopping the signing of the Jaiz Bank MoU through a court injunction obtained from the state High Court.
