Ex-Plateau Finance Commissioner, Davou Mang For House Of Reps Election

Davou Mang, former Plateau state commissioner for Finance in the administration of Governor Jonah Jang, has joined the list of political aspirants seeking elective positions in the 2019 general elections.
Davou Mang who wants to represents Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal constituency and has formally picked, filled and submitted his form to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
He expressed confidence about his victory in the 2019 elections as he sued for sustained prayers and counsel of his constituents to enable him deliver on his mandate after the polls.
Speaking on behalf of the Party, the Organizing Secretary of the State PDP, Yakubu Gwott pledged a level playing field for all aspirants, advising the former
commissioner to eschew bitterness in his campaign.
Our correspondent reports that the PDP secretariat has become a beehive of activities, as party supporters throng in daily in their thousands to support aspirants coming to express their interest.
Also at the Secretariat was Johnbull Shakarau, member representing Shendam/Qua’apan/Mikang constituency in the National Assembly who submitted his letter of intent to run for the gubernatorial election in the state.
He describes himself as the most qualified candidate to run for the governorship of the state in view of his wealth of experiences as a retired police officer, one time local government secretary, deputy speaker, Plateau state House of Assembly and member of the House of Representatives.
He said having originated from the same zone with the sitting governor, Simon Lalong of the All Progressive Congress, APC, it will be appropriate for the PDP to consider him, so as to complete the zoning arrangements in respect of the area.
