In another development, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has expressed sadness over the renewed killings in Lopamdyet area close to Guratopp in Rayfield, Jos South Local Government Area in plateau state.
No fever than 13 persons were said to have been killed by some militias believed to be Fulanis.
The attacks which occured in the evening hours of Sunday, 2nd September, 2018, has thrown the state into another round of mourning.
The PDP on her part, condemns the continued killing of innocent Plateau people.
In a statement issued by the state Publicity Secretary of the Party in Plateau State, Sir J .T. Akans, he described the incidents as unfortunate, ugly and unwanted killings and noted that they have been going on, even when we have security checkpoints everywhere within and outside the state capital.
“This has become clear that the government has abandoned its responsibility of protecting it’s citizens. “What is the primary responsibility of government if not to protect people’s lives and property?
“While killings are ongoing in the state, tertiary institutions are embarking on strike as a result of the failure of government policies, and our dear governor is busy wasting our state resources on a foreign trip that will have no direct benefit to our people, even when he was not part of the President’s China trip.
“It is unfortunate and embarrassing that Governor Lalong went on lobbying the Presidency to be part of Mr President’s visit to China. Most disheartening is the fact that when his request was turned down, out of despc Party is saddened by this trend of ugly events going on in some parts of the state, particularly in the Northern and Central Senatorial Zones.
Our prayers and thoughts are with first, the families of the deceased, the injured and indeed, the people of Plateau State.eration and lack of priority, he on his own traveled to meet with Mr President in China, leaving his people in a traumatized condition”.
