Freeing Hostages From Kidnappers: Why Paying Ransom Is Admission Of Failure In Nigeria’s ‘Hotbed Of Madness’

Isa Pantami has accused the security forces of not using the NIN/SIM facilities to track down criminals.

A few years ago, a man called Isa Ali Pantami (who by the way, happens to be to have held a high-profile government position), vowed to resign his ministerial position to don a military uniform in order to fight terrorists. Isa Pantami is Nigeria’s former minister of Communications and Digital Economy.

He announced the raising of fifty million naira ransom for the remaining abducted sisters of Al-Kadriyar’s family.

Daily Trust had reported how bandits invaded Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Tuesday night, and abducted a man and his six daughters.
The Ariyo Folorunso Oladosu family from Ekiti state, are also in captivity. The family were taken alongside Nabeeha’s family from the same compound, by the same kidnappers, at the same time.

Their first daughter has already been killed, and the kidnappers are asking for N60 million as well.

According to @FirstLadyship, Nefertiti,
certain truths have been established and they are as follows:

1. Protest is Haram.
2. Muslim Muslim ticket was a scam.

3. No Nigerian is immune to insecurity.

4. Pantami’s NIN was a failed project.
5. Buhari did not tackle the insecurity.

6. Osinbajo did not tackle the Economy.

7. Tinubu is not tackling the Economy.
8. Shettima is not tackling the insecurity.

9. The APC abuses the NW, NC, NE, & SW.

Tribes don’t commit crimes, people do.
There are no tribes in Aso Rock.

Kidnappers won’t ask of your tribe/religion.

There is enough madness to go round.

I call for the release of Nabeeha’s Sisters’ still in captivity. Every life must matter! Bola Tinubu must protect Nigerians equally!

The Nigerian police @PoliceNG must get off twitter & the roadblocks across the country. Their PPROs must get off the social media/clout chasing and move into the bushes & the forests.

That is where they are most needed!

RIP to Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, I send my condolences to her parents & well wishes.

May God Almighty give them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

And here are the hard truths espoused by Reno Omokri:

Crowdfunding the payment of ransoms is never a solution. You are not solving a problem. You are making it worse.

This act by Professor Isa Pantami of getting his friends to gather money for ransom to bandits is not generosity.

It is attempting to cure cancer by feeding the cancer cells.

Look at what Israel did when Hamas kidnapped Israelis. They are by far more prosperous than us. But they did not pay any ransom or give in to any demands.

They cordoned off the territory where Hamas operated and severely degraded their ability to kidnap people in future.

That is what Nigeria ought to do. Get the civilian population out of these kidnap hotspots, then send in the military to devastate every man, woman, teenager, and even animal in their dens. Only children should be spared.

If we had been doing this from the get-go, kidnapping and banditry would have ended because it is human nature not to continue an unprofitable venture.

However, where a criminal benefits from his criminality, he will never stop.

If we want to crowdfund, we should arm the security services and vigilantes to patrol these vulnerable communities 24/7.

To buy helicopters, drones and night vision equipment, as well as boost our intelligence gathering capabilities. Not for the payment of ransoms to bandits as if they are the lawful government and we are their subjects.
