Caleb Mutfwang, (Governor, Plateau State)

In his initial tweets as newly elected governor of Plateau state, Barr Caleb Mutfwang said :

“i am elated to share with you all my first appointment as the Executive Governor of Plateau State. In my bid to build a new united Plateau, I have taken the step to ensure that competent individuals are appointed to key positions in the state.

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Arch. Samuel Nanchang Jatau as the Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), a retired Director in the Plateau State Civil Service and Governorship aspirant in 2019. He is presently an active and practicing politician in the PDP family.

“Furthermore, Barr. Philemon Dafi has been appointed as the Attorney General/Commissioner of Justice designate. He is a seasoned legal practitioner with more than thirty (30) years of active legal practice and a member of the Council for Legal Education in Nigeria.

“Lastly, Mr. Moses Nwan mni has been appointed as the Executive Private Secretary to the Governor. He is a retired Permanent Secretary with the Plateau State Government and a former Local Government Administrator. He is also a devoted community leader and presently the Senior Special Assistant (Special Duties) to the Governor of Plateau State.

The appointments are with immediate effect, and I am confident that these appointments will steer Plateau State in the right direction”

Just see it all, his first and earliest appointments have gone to retirees, albeit, distinguished and honorable ones.

In building the new with the old, does the governor know that in the Commonwealth nation of New Zealand, a young girl in her thirties once became the Prime Minister who governed the country to rapturous acclaim ?

She had her first baby while in office as Prime Minister and only got married in her 40s to her fiance after leaving office. She remains one of the best Prime Ministers New Zealand ever had.

Here’s a little bit about her from Wikipedia:

Jacinda Kate Laurell Ardern was born 26 July 1980. A New Zealand politician who served as the 40th prime minister of New Zealand and leader of the Labour Party from 2017 to 2023.

See ?
The youths can also serve. Mix them with the retirees. The experience would not be bad at all. Plateau needs all the help that it can get, governor.

Jacinda Ardern was one of the most popular – and powerful – prime ministers in recent New Zealand history.

The youths can serve, and serve very well. At least as commissioners, advisers and secretaries etc.
