The educational sector in Kaduna State receives a boost with the establishment of a private university by an educationist and philanthropist, Chief (Engineer) Simon Ifediora Nwakacha.

The first of its kind, Greenfield University, established by Chief Nwakacha who is a trained engineer, and also the proprietor of Imperial College located at Kudenda district in Kaduna state will commence academic activities in May, 2019, as one of the pioneering private universities in the North West part of Nigeria, an area, underserved by educational institutions relative to its status as the most populous region in the country.

The underlying philosophy of the founder is to bring first rate education within the reach of Nigerians, especially the less privileged ones. He disclosed this
while taking some selected journalists round the institution’s premises located at Kasarami, along the Kaduna-Abuja axis. The tertiary institution will commence with two faculties.

“The first phase of development has just started with the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences and has five departments which include accounting, economics, business administration, political science and entrepreneurship.” he said.
“We also have the Faculty of Science and Technology which have departments of physics, life sciences, chemistry, computational and mathematical sciences,” he added.

Chief (Engr) Nwakacha, who doubles as the Pro-Chancellor of the institution, further said that “as you can see, we are occupying a virgin land and it is surrounded by a large community but we are not taking chances with security as we have a police station and also a military detachment in the institution just as we have our own personal security outfit in the school to tackle problems of insecurity. ”

Also speaking, Dr Valentine Nwakacha, who is a promoter and member, Board of Trustees of the institution said that the hostels for both male and female students will house over five thousand students as the first phase of the hostel can accommodate 150 students with five students per room.
“These Room lavishly furnished with wardrobe for each student and has a state of the art toilet facilities apart from the tables and chairs and it is for one person per bed, we will not entertain squatters.”
“we also have a cafeteria which will cater for over 1000 students at a seating, while the academic block also houses other administrative offices like the Senate building, Vice Chancellor’s office and all the necessary offices that will facilitate the smooth take off of the institution.
” we also have a hospital which will not only cater for the staff and students but also the immediate community living in the school environment and we have adequate electricity and water supply not just for the institution but also those residing around it.”
“And what we have in our laboratories which have been fully accredited by the National Universities Commission, (NUC) is second to none especially in the areas of science and entrepreneurship,” he said.
He said that the institution is cautious of the high cost of education that is why they have some students who will benefit from the scholarship scheme set up by the institution and it’s tuition fees shall remain amongst the most competitive compared to others within and outside the nation.
“There is no need for us to send our children to universities outside the state or the nation as the one we have here will be able to cater for the needs of a large segment of the state and nation in general,” he further added.

    Great idea!
Please give the people more information about the owner of the university, members of the board of trustees), website information(including phone numbers and email/mailing address), details of the interior of the building and potential staff and faculty strength.
This write up should have included these information.

This is a news item and less of an advertorial for the new private university.
They’ll see your comment and probably respond.

      Thanks.
