After the reggae came the blues…First meeting of Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki after Oshiomole’s ill adviced push, Obaseki’s (left) forced departure from the APC into the PDP and his resounding win back to office for his final term.

Director of Media and Communications in Senator Francis Alimikhena’s Campaign Organization, Benjamin Atu, has accused Adams Oshiomhole of misrepresentation by comparing his accomplishments as a Governor who wielded executive power with those of a legislator, saying it is only a failed governor that does that.

Atu, whose views were contained in a statement made available to the press, described Adams Oshiomhole as “the most deceptive Governor of his era, with lousy leadership, who deceived president Muhammadu Buhari by removing equipment from the existing Stella Obasanjo Hospital and brought them to the Central Hospital for commissioning.

“A man who couldn’t be trusted as a Governor will torment the people when elected in any other sensitive position,” he noted.

According to him, “the fact that Senator Francis Alimikhena executed sufficient projects that Oshiomhole now uses to compare to his achievements, means Oshiomhole was a triumphant failure, who merely cloned his achievements with media propaganda to mislead the public.

“Senator Francis Alimikhena gave Edo North a world class Dialysis center, well equipped and handed over to the Edo State Government, as the only dialysis center in Edo North. A feat in the health Sector that Oshiomhole could not accomplish as governor. The equipment in the Dialysis Center at the Auchi General Hospital were not borrowed like Adams Oshiomhole did”.

Atu maintained that Edo State under Oshiomhole, received over N1 trillion from the federation account and internally generated revenue, but borrowed more than N300 billion.

“Oshiomhole received the highest federal allocation as Governor yet there is no infrastructure to justify such huge resources. Where are the industries you promised us? Where are the reinvigorated industries?

“We are yet to see the new Owan you promised. What you could not achieve as a Governor, can never be accomplished as a Senator,” Atu declared.

Writing further, Atu noted that, “Despite the firm grip which Oshiomole maintained over the finances of the State, he could not address the infrastructural challenges of Okpella, Owan, Akoko-Edo and other critical sectors of the economy in Edo North.

“Seven years after he was Governor, there was still constant rumbling by the people of Owan West, East and Akoko-Edo, urging Governor Adams Oshiomhole to honour his pact with them to fix their road.

Nearly seven years in office, such a man who failed to address the challenges of the masses has no moral ground to confront the man who has exceeded public expectations.

“If Oshiomhole had addressed the infrastructural challenges of Edo North he would not have had the need to campaign in his failed Senatorial ambition.”

“When you stir up the waters, it is usually only the little fishes that swim up to bathe. The fact that Oshiomhole has swum up to bathe by drawing analysis of his projects with the incumbent Senator, means Senator Francis Alimikhena would have done better if he was the Governor of Edo State, as Nigerians will not forget the nasty and brutish life in Owan, when Oshiomhole was a Governor”, the statement concluded.
