Osun State Governor’s Spokesman, Olawale Rasheed has in a statement issued to the press denied the allegations being peddled in the social media that Governor Ademola Adeleke has withdrawn the humongous amount of five billion naira from Osun state government accounts.
“This is absolutely untrue and it is such an unkind thing to say”.
“We want to publicly deny the malicious rumour and unfounded allegation secretly being peddled on social media by men of yesterday that Governor Ademola Adeleke withdrew five billion naira from State Accounts. It is not true at all”.
“The general public would recall that Governor Adeleke had during his inauguration, announced the freezing of all state and local government accounts. That was done right at the venue of inauguration before he had any access to see the government’s records and finances.
” How can such an amount be withdrawn from State coffers on the day of inauguration when the new governor had no access to state accounts ?
“We appeal to members of the public to completely ignore the rumour being peddled by a few individuals who are still in pain due to their loss of power. His Excellency, Governor Adeleke is on the seat as head of the new administration to serve the good people of Osun and is not interested in self-enrichment as was the mantra of yesterday’s leadership”.
