Dr. Betta Edu. No longer a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

During Sunday service early this week, it was exciting time at all branches of Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel when a proclamation was made about the next Shiloh, a convocation of worshippers worldwide that sees thousands of members coming to the Church headquarters at Ota in Ogun state, South West Nigeria for a spiritual assembly.

The preceding Shiloh 2023 in December saw Dr. Betta Edu climbing the magnificent altar to share her testimony. According to her, she was able to see the Presiding Bishop of the Mega Church, David Oyedepo to ask for prayers in 2022 that when coming for Shiloh 2023, she would have been made a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at such a young age.

‘It is done’, Bishop Oyedepo declared, and indeed, Almighty God affirmed the declaration of his servant.

Watch:

She was duly appointed a minister of the Federal Republic.

Many may have expected that at Shiloh 2024, she may come to share another testimony on how she has fared, Impacting the lives of beleaguered Nigerians, suffering under the yoke of unprecedented inflation, inadequate Medicare, poor infrastructure etc.

Rather than come for that, Nigerians got another testimony from government spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga that the president had called her in company of a few other ministers to thank them for their services in less than one year because things hadn’t added up.

“She’s gone”, Bayo Onanuga declared.

If anything, she had been suspended for months for putting money meant for another purpose in an account that was not designated for government money.

Glory gone. Humiliation comes in. Prayer wasted.

Watch Bayo Onanuga in an interview on Betta Edu and sundry matters:

Why does Nigeria continue to have scenes like this that nobody thinks of the nation and true service? Making things better becomes a difficult task, and despondency rises in the nation.

This leads to mass exodus of people to foreign lands where majority face humiliation in the scheme called Japa.
Why ?

The old and imfirm are left behind to cater for the toddlers until they grow to also abandon the land.

When will greed end in Nigeria?
When will true service be enthroned?
When will Nigeria truly work for all those who live in it?

Problem is the money public officers pilfer from government purse hardly helps them. Neither does it help their descendants because it came easy and it often goes easy. There are people also waiting to steal it from them. And the cycle continues.

Nigeria has to find a way out of this mess, one way or the other. The desperation is too much. For decades, Nigerians pay so much for very little because of the system that allows things to go wrong.

May we get better testimonies on infrastructure and development.
