From the curses against Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to his famous speech about his futuristic post presidency life and the International acclaim he gets anywhere he goes, Nigeria’s former president breaks the net with positive comments about his role and place in the country’s affairs and history.

At Enugu, he said:

“Happy to be in Enugu for the 10th Anniversary of Godfrey Okoye University. It was a pleasure to have commissioned the Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Convocation Arena of the School.
GEJ November 22”.

Huge honor, that was, from a private university. Jonathan did not build a private university for himself. But he built and commissioned 12 Universities for the Nigerian public in States that do not have.

Then, it happened again at Igbinedion University, Okada.
Here’s GEJ again, unplugged:

“I appreciate the Senate and Governing Council of Igbinedion University, Okada for conferring on me an Honorary Doctor of Science Degree and for renaming the College of Arts and Social Sciences after me. I congratulate other honourees and all graduating students. ”

An entire College, renamed after GEJ. And it is coming from a private university. Nigerians across a broad spectrum are appreciating him more and more, each passing day and reliving his famous words on freedom of expression, rule of law, submission to the electoral code and the sanctity of human life, not worth killing for any ambition.

All the global acclaim he gets, gives immeasurable pleasure to those who believed in his humaneness while in office, and campaigned for him.

Conversely, many who stabbed him in the back, seem to be getting their just recompense, especially some media men who cooked up unsavory lies against Jonathan, just as to make him an object of hate and opprobrium, which unfortunately led to his defeat at the polls. Some of them in detention today, never appreciated Jonathan’s gesture of freedom of expression. Today, at least one of them must be full of regret, as his personal freedom, has been thrown out, across the fence.
