Hon. Ndudi Elumelu is currently the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives. He represents the people of Aniocha / Oshimili Federal Constituency.

He is serving his fourth term as a legislator in the Green Chamber of the Nigerian Parliament not because Aniocha / Oshimili Federal Constituency lacks other qualified persons to represent them, but they retain this illustrious son of the soil because of qualitative representation through which he has brought strides of development to the area.

Elumelu has been facilitating and attracting many federal government projects to the Constituency since 2007 that he has been representing them.

He has remained a pride to the Constituency and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which he has served in many capacities on various committees and on different assignments.

Today, Elumelu stands tall as an irrepressible voice of the Nigerian masses, the oppressed in the society, fighting against injustice through the instrument of legislation.

His passion for fairness, equity and justice has been further imbued by his position as Minority Leader of the House, a position which has made him a force to reckon with in the Nigerian Parliament.

Elumelu since assumption of that leadership role has never disappointed his colleagues on the opposition aisle of the Green Chamber.

He confronts headlong House leadership whenever they drift away from the letters of the House Rules and has always been on his feet to counter any proposed motion or bill that tends to infringe on the fundamental human rights of the citizenry.

The Minority Leader is averse to not only defending the interest of the minority Caucus which include members of smaller parties but interest of the poor masses who are the larger minority.

He has made the fight against any piece of repressive legislation his duty and has always been ready to lobby colleagues of like minds to quash such anti – legislation.

His action in leading members of the opposition on a ‘walk out’ of plenary in one of the House sessions in the build up towards the passage of the Petroleum Industry Act is a testament to his qualitative leadership.

He is a man who does not play politics with national issues but criticises government policies objectively.

Elumelu is a humble Nigerian, well educated and passionate about development of people through policies that are capable of restoring to the people, dignity as well as bringing joy to all.
