Nigeria’s Worst Choices In Leadership : The Marathon Race Of Faith To Change – Tony Abolo (2)

We must be ready to confront the dead and immobile system we run in Nigeria. It is run by dullards, crooks and fraudsters and an unthinking leadership. Nigerian leaders are not trained to think – a failure of our educational and cultural system.
Take the fuel situation for example. The Federal Government is telling us of more imports, more distribution outlets and DPR closing stations. That is not and cannot be the answer for a thinking government. It requires the refurbishing of refineries, efficient refineries, the establishment of modular refineries and alternative energy.
Is that what you are hearing from the Buhari Government?
No.
Can you see that they have no idea or intention to solve the problem of energy? Perhaps it may be true that they are waiting for a cabal arrangement through Dangote refinery, where it is rumored that the high net-worth and politically exposed persons have hidden investments. The ultimate solution should be about expanding the energy sector, the economy and providing space and employment. Come to think of it, article 36 of the APC promises in 2015, states that the party would be “Reviving and Reactivating manually performing refineries to optimum capacity”.
Why does Buhari and the party not remind themselves of their unfulfilled promises?
In 20 years time, the world will leave us far behind. So instead of waiting for Trump to be insulting us, because our leadership neither has shame nor can think, the youth must step up to take their place in redirecting our future.
You have a choice – despite the lack of ideologies of the current political parties, you must join them in large numbers and prevent their vacuosness and nothingness. Or else, join the new party being proposed by persons with integrity, like Olisa Agbakoba’s new party; a party that wishes that the country succeeds. Or else take to the new yet to crystallize political parties which will outline new positions and new ideologies and which are looking for the youth and untainted persons.
These new parties are not interested in 2019 or 2023 but in 2027 and post 2027 elections, when this present rot will have made us sick enough that Nigerians would seek a light in the tunnel. Then, it will not be APC, PDP, APGA – in fact none of the current political parties.
To change Nigeria is a marathon race; a race of faith for a New Country, a New Nigeria. And it is possible that by 2027, there may not be Nigeria as we know it. It then means, the youth would have readied themselves for a New Country – and a better country other than this chaotic contraption, which for a better name, is called Nigeria.
The world is thinking of Machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, Life in Space, Robotics, and a digital Economy. Where is the Nigeria of today in all these?
Instead of thinking of the new digital divides and new technological economies, which will engage and occupy the youth – what do you hear today? – Buhari for 2019. Atiku for 2019.
Does that really put food on the table?
Does it sort out our chaos and crisis and economic challenges?
No way.
The answer lies with you the youth. The youth must plan today to take over all power, all structures, all institutions, when tomorrow comes. And send all old men who ought to be with their grandchildren into retirement and oblivion. They have messed the country long enough. They all must go. The youth must and should take over, now.
The youth must avoid the silly distractions of today Nigeria – like arguing for or against tithing or whether Firdaus should wear a hijab or not in order to be called to the Bar.
Those are the ways they distract you and make you, lose sight of the big picture. Instead of those inanities, and talking about sterile religion, why do we not dwell on Industrialization, Research, Education, Quality Education, and Development ?
Those are the things that will enable the youth to take over. The youth must be organized and ready.
2 million critical mass of youthful Nigerians, raising only N500 each, is N1b with which to drive their own political process. And with commitment, less than that number and finance can enable the youth to take and occupy and TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY!
It is possible.
I can’t wait.
Thank you.
