Obi’s Chatham House Outcomes. Empty Warning From Omokri On Obi’s Alleged ‘Stinginess’ And Jagaban’s Generosity

Peter Obi was at Chatham House, and he also dispelled Omokri’s accusations of being soft in the condemnation of IPOB.

Reno Omokri @renoomokri who once had only glorious comments to say about Peter Obi when he was a state governor in Anambra State, and after his sterling years as a pacesetting governor, but now seems to have a position in Abubakar Atiku’s campaign team has tweeted a propaganda piece as usual to confuse voters.

“I repeat my warning to Nigeria’s 26 million registered student voters. Elect Peter Obi, and his stinginess will force ASUU to go in the Mother of All strikes”.

As is usual, with propaganda that discerning readers always see through for what it is, several fake fact attackers would flood his post to counter him.

It doesn’t bother him because the more they visit his posts, the more his visibility in the media rises, for good or for bad.

Truth usually has no room in the hands of propagandists. All they are after is the pay at the end of the day.

As governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi’s legacy in the education sector remains enduring. From the low rankings amongst the states of Nigeria where Anambra State was in the lowly least performing 10 states, he moved it to the best performing in the whole federation.

The extent it reached was that for a child from Anambra State to be qualified for admission into any of the elite federal government colleges, such a child must have excellent scores, sometimes, above 80% to be qualified for admission. In some least performing states, a child would need to score at least 3% only.

So how would a leader of that caliber who believes in excellence allow disruptions in the academic calendar?

Peter Obi funded public schools, mission schools and even private schools through grants in so many innovative ways to bring out the best in the students. And the results were outstanding.

Ditto, in the health sector.

Peter Obi’s handover notes after his tenure as governor becomes a mirror to assess his impact on governance.

While in office, Peter Obi did not establish any creative funding mechanisms to set up a private university for profit while public ones suffered neglect. But Reno Omokri was once seen in a tweet eulogizing the very candidate he is supporting, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for setting up a private university while in office at a time that public universities were facing utter neglect and degradation.

He said, “Atiku is the proprietor of the American University of Nigeria, Yola, which is one of the best private universities in Africa, as well as the first American-style university in Sub-Saharan Africa”.

Imagine a public officer establishing a private university for profit while the public ones groan, go on strike and tend towards crumbling. Is that what to be jubilant about?

Millions of Nigerian voters who are mainly youths are seeing Reno Omokri’s tweets and quite understand what his propaganda hopes to gain.
But they are determined to thwart the transactional politicking for the benefit of the entire nation.
