PDP Convention: Delegates Favour Committed, Capable Candidate That Can Floor Buhari

Daily Trust Report. Debunked. PDP says vote is individual’s choice. There will be no imposition of any candidate.

One major feature of  the ongoing PDP Convention holding in Port Harcourt, Rivers State to choose a presidential candidate, is the high wire negotiations and horse trading going on against the backdrop of never before seen level of propaganda to sway minds.
What has so far taken the wind off the sail of propaganda and reduced it’s efficacy is the conclusive meeting of PDP governors allowing Delegates to freely vote according to individual assessment and conscience.

Therefore when the story that Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal and Senate President, Bukola Saraki  “emerged from a meeting ahead of the Convention” with reports talking about the possibility of the PDP producing a consensus candidate by Daily Trust, Delegates laughed. The Newspaper must have been misled into publishing what is patently false in all materials particular. No such meeting happened, The Oasis Reporters learnt from a reliable source.

The Oasis Reporters correspondent sampled the opinions of some Delegates.
Taraba State Delegates said they can vote for a competent one, who remains committed to the PDP and stayed with the party when it was not fashionable in the North to do so owing to the Buhari gale, someone who did not run away from the PDP to other parties.

Another delegate from Sokoto State said that they are in Port Harcourt to vote for someone who has the capacity to defeat Buhari. They will vote based on competence and they will vote for the real PDPist, not a returnee.

Character and ability seem to be the benchmark and irreducible minimum for most Delegates in this all important Presidential Primaries that the People’s Democratic Party, PDP must get right before the election in February 2019.
