More aspirants seeking elective positions under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the forthcoming general elections have continued to troop in and announce their intentions to party officials and delegates on why their candidature should be considered.

At the PDP Secretariat in Jos on Wednesday were Senator Victor Mainasara Lar and Ambassador Chris Giwa who came in to indicate their areas of interest to the party.

Victor Lar is seeking to govern Plateau state saying that as a party man who believes in party supremacy, he has decided to come out for the race to run for the governorship election based on the zoning arrangements made by the party that it is the turn of the southern zone.

He promised to work for the party, even if his desires to be the candidate is not actualized, saying he considers himself most qualified because of his wealth of experience in governance in the legislative business.
Adding that the 2019 Governorship seat in Plateau state is so critical that it must not be toyed with if the PDP wants to wrestle powers from the All Progressive Congress, APC, urging the party officials to remain resolute, and be fair to all aspirants.

He said Plateau state has all what it takes to be self reliant, but has continued to rely on federal allocations to survive due to bad leadership by the preceding governments.

Stressing that, key areas that would be the policy thrust of his administration, if elected will be peace, wealth Creation through revolutionalization of Agriculture among other things.

He appeals to the party to endow him with the opportunity this time, owing to his contributions to the party.

“In the last elections, I contested and came number three, number one died and the number two has run away, so the party should automatically give me the ticket to rule the state”.

” I promise not to fail the party, and if I finally emerge, I will build the secretariat for this party”, he added.

Declaring why he has decided to join the race to run for senate, Plateau North senatorial district, Ambassador Chris Giwa says it is to add value to the party to fully recover its lost glory, and make PDP win the forthcoming elections in the state.

He cautions party supporters not to be afraid of losing, and sell their conscience for want of material things. He said the APC has lost its grip in Plateau politics, and urged party supporters to remain supportive to his candidature and the party at large.

The leadership of the party, through the state party Chairman Hon. Damishi Sango has assured all aspirants of a level playing ground, insisting that they will exhibit all sense of transparency to all.
