Endorses Gov. Lalong For Award.

US based Professor of Epidemiology, Patrick Dakum has expressed unhappiness towards the attitude of some Plateau citizens over their nonchalant attitude and lack of willingness to encourage their own.

This, according to him, has informed the reason why they always shy away from events such as the book launch where knowledge and hard work are supposed to be rewarded, but choose to attend functions where you have much to eat, drink and carry home.

The professor who was the chairman at the book launch, ‘Who Is Who on the Plateau’, authored by a seasoned journalist, the publisher of NewsGate Magazine, Ambassador Chief Nanyah Andrew Daman, held at Crispan Hotel in Jos , Plateau state.

Patrick Dakum, believed to nurse the ambition of running as a gubernatorial candidate in Plateau State come 2023, decried the caliber of dignitaries invited for the book launch that failed to turn up, and whose lives the documentation of the book by this author have touched in several ways and were therefore expected to sacrifice their time, possibly money as a sign of appreciation to the author for the work.
Yet they refused to honour the invitation.

The professor advised these categories of persons to change their behavior and imbibe the spirit of appreciating knowledge, hard work as well as encouraging work such as this done by Chief Nanyah Daman which he described as an everlasting legacy.

He commended the seasoned journalist who doubled as the author of the 313 pages of the compendium/book that parades the names of the ”Who Is Who” in Plateau State, present and past.

In a interview with journalists, Professor Patrick Dakum who is among the three recipients of “Who Is Who 2021 Merit Award of Excellence” said he supported the choice of Gov. Simon Bako Lalong for the Merit Award of “Who Is Who” In the Plateau Merit Award 2021″ for being one of the Governors’, except the first civilian Governor of the state Solomon Daushep Lar, no other governor in the state ever continued the projects of his predecessor.

The Governor has therefore broken the age long political grudges in the state by continuing the projects of his predecessors.

“Before Lalong’s administration, all we knew and saw was a plethora of abandoned projects because any new government would balk at the thought of continuing with the projects of his predecessor even when it is going to have a positive impact on the citizens of the state.

Dakum further added that the Award bestowed on the member representing Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam is also putting the right peg in the right hole.

Similarly, the former Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi state presently with the National Universities Commission Abuja, Angela Miri commended the governor of the state Simon Bako Lalong for investing in education which is the bedrock of any development effort.
