A leading top Tier-1 Nigerian financial institution, Access Bank Plc recently released a piece of information on the antics of fraudsters who craftily change the letter ‘a’ font in b’a’nk to deceive and divert bank customers into a fraudulent website in order to fleece them.

They have thus called for vigilance.

And to show how alert Access Bank Plc is when a bank customer accesses his or account online, the log in information alert is promptly sent to the customers email and phone number.

“Dear CUSTOMER X,

ACCESS MORE LOGIN CONFIRMATION

Please be informed that your Access More profile was accessed on 07 Aug 2023 at hour: minute: second.

If you did not log on to your profile at the time detailed above, please call our 24-hour contact centre on 0700CallAccess, 0700 3000000, +234 1-2712005-7, +234 1-2802500 or send an email to contactcenter@accessbankplc.com immediately.

Thank you for choosing Access Bank”.

Each time a customer cries out on Twitter for instance, the first response is usually a sympathy note in very polite language before directing the customer to a more secure and private DM to get to the root of the complaint. This is usually a move that would lead to an amicable resolution of the complaint.

It pains the bank to see a customer in situations where accounts are hacked.

Banks usually expose the antics of hackers, each time they devise a new trick, aimed at getting people’s funds illegally and unauthorizedly.

While banks constantly update their operations to be ahead of fraudsters, the greatest onus is on eternal vigilance because hackers are planning without people’s knowledge.
