Central Council Of Ibadan Indigenes have presented the wife of Governor Seyi Makinde with the Most Outstanding Wife of Ibadanland award.

Tamunominini Makinde, a Rivers state born citizen is an engineer by profession like her husband, Engr. Seyi Makinde who is believed to have met his wife as a Youth Service Corp member during his compulsory national service for one year in the South south state of Rivers state.

Some commenters say that she blended easily into the culture and traditions of her husband’s home state, Oyo.

Many believe that watchful citizens of Ibadan noticed this and probably decided to bestow the award on her.

The couple are blessed with children.

Governor Seyi Makinde who was already a wealthy engineering professional in the oil and gas industry decided to venture into politics and he is currently serving his final second tenure of four years which is expected to expire in 2027 and the couple is expected to go back to their oil and gas business, or try their hands in another profession. But that would be a decision that should wait till 2027 before it is taken.
