As part of the programme of events for the gubernatorial inauguration in Ibadan city, the second ever governor to do a cumulative two terms in office, Engr Seyi Makinde of Oyo State in South West Nigeria, attended a Thanksgiving service at Christ Life Church: The Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Ibadan today.
In his remarks at the service, he thanked Bishop Francis Wale Oke “and the body of Christ for their support and prayers these past four years”.
“I said that it has been my privilege to serve the good people of Oyo State and I thanked them for giving us another opportunity to serve for four more years. I promised that our administration will continue to put the interests of the people of Oyo State first”.

A very elated governor Makinde who not only dislodged the All Progressive Congress (APC) of Abiola Ajimobi ( who himself was the first ever governor of Oyo State to win a second term despite a lackluster administration that was notorious for owing workers’ salaries but went on to snatch a second term on the back of a Buhari mania hysteria), seemed expansively buoyant for bouncing the comatose Oyo economy back to reckoning.
Makinde even pays workers the 13th month salary as a sign of brimming confidence in the State’s ability to generate income and balance the books unlike in the past.
He equally employed and deployed teachers based on merit to enhance the classroom experience of Oyo students who had been lagging beyond in competitive examinations nationwide as it was in the past.
Reason enough for the citizens of the state to overwhelmingly return Makinde back to power with the help of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that effectively ensured a free and fair governorship election in the state.
