In order to hit the ground running in Plateau State towards making Labour Party the ruling party come May 29, 2022, National Chairman of the party, Barr. Julius Abure has presented Prof Dakum as the new and acceptable gubernatorial candidate.
Speaking to the press earlier last week, he said that presenting a more acceptable and visible candidate to the people of the state who are desirous of a change in leadership in the state, a globally noted scientist and people oriented man that can harness the enormous potentials of the land, and move the state from consumption to value added production while boosting the economy of the state, Professor Patrick Dakum was meticulously picked.
Speaking to The Oasis Reporters in Jos, a Plateau State stakeholder and public affairs analyst, Ubandoman Shendam said, “Plateau State has a lot of mineral resources, human resources and first rate agricultural endowments. Plateau State has to move to Labour, harness the agricultural output and put in place the strategy that would make agricultural production and its value chain the biggest wealth creating economy in Nigeria. California did it. Our weather is even better than that of California”.
He also added that once everyone keys into the philosophy of the Labour Party in Plateau state, security problems associated with inefficient management would be reduced, and finally tackled.
“His long standing quest towards promoting peaceful coexistence among Plateau indigenes was the driving force behind Professor Patrick Dakum’s hosting of a popular radio show in the 90’s known as ‘Home Front’, which sought to improve families by offering free counseling on air as well as relationship tips. Anyone who had resided in Plateau State around the late 90’s and early 2000’s would attest that ‘Home Front’ was a listeners’ favorite .
About his wit and charisma, almost everyone who meets Patrick for up to an hour attests to that. His generosity cannot be fully expressed because a lot of time he gives with the right hand without the left hand knowing. He has been sending money and gifts to many widows as well as fending for underprivileged children, yet he makes no noise about it”, Ubandoman Shendam further added.
