‘We are United And No Faction’, Ohanaeze Condemns Nwaigwe’s Visit To Gov Obiano

The Igbo of South East Nigeria apex socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has come out in condemnation of an alleged visit to Anambra state governor, Willie Obiano by Nnamdi Nwaigwe, purported to have come from the organization.

In a Press release issued recently, Ohanaeze Ndigbo condemns the purported visit, allegedly on behalf of the organization. It said that the aforementioned Nnamdi Nwaigwe is neither an official of the organization, or has ever stood for an election within it.

OHANAEZE NDIGBO LAGOS STATE CHAPTER CONDEMNS NWAIGWE’s VISIT TO GOVERNOR OBIANO.

The attention of the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State Chapter, has been drawn to a purported visit to the Governor of Anambra State, his Excellency Chief Willie Obiano by one Nnamdi Nwigwe claiming to be acting in the name of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos.

Having been enjoying a good working relationship with the Anambra state government which explains why upon inauguration, the state liason office was our first port of call and considering that the President of Anambra state Town Union in Lagos Barrister Vine Osakwe is the vice President Ohanaeze for Anambra while Dr. Mrs Nkiruka E. Ifekwem the president Anambra state women Association in Lagos, is the Ohanaeze Lagos Vice women leader for Anambra, we are left wondering why his Excellency the governor would identify with a persona-non-grata and imposter who had neither the aforementioned persons on board nor the Anambra Ohanaeze President -high Chief D.A Okeke who was supposed to lead such a delegation if it was authorized by Ohanaeze.

For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to reiterate that the Lagos State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a progressive socio-cultural organization with the sole aim of protecting the interest of Ndigbo in Lagos under the leadership of Chief Solomon Ogbonna has no faction. The said Nnamdi Nwigwe has never stood for any election in Ohanaeze and cannot possibly be said to have been elected in any capacity in the Lagos Ohanaeze.

As a group, we recognize that with just a week to the general election, this is the time when political jobbers use every platforms, real or imagined, to defraud unsuspecting politicians and we feel constrained to warn the general public that the said Nwigwe is a man with a four year history of political prostitution using different cover. His purported visit has nothing to do with Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos chapter. We are united under one President, Chief Solomon Ogbonna and there is no faction. Anyone dealing with Mr Nwaigwe is doing so at his/her own risk.
