To justify the name tag of Mr. Project, an appellation oil rich Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike proudly bears, other Chiefs Executive are often invited to Port Harcourt to commission one project or the other.

To round-up some of Wike’s 2020 projects commissioning, he had as guests, Rivers State son-in-law, Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde who not only did his compulsory National Service in the aquatic state, but took a wife from there back to Ibadan, yes, Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde is Rivers State born; Chairman Oyo State Advisory Council, Senator Hosea Agboola and Ondo State PDP Gubernatorial Candidate in the last election, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) to do the Commissioning of Woji road and Obagi GRA, Port Harcourt.

River State Governor, Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike once played host to President Goodluck Jonathan who had equally come to commission some projects after he had left office. President Muhammadu Buhari has equally done the same.

President Olusegun Obasanjo as well as Alh. Atiku Abubakar at some time came to do some commissioning as well.

The financial cost of constructing a 100 km road in Sokoto may be unable to do a 10km road in Rivers State, due to the swampy nature of the Rivers terrain. More often than not, many Nigerians fail to put that into consideration when assessing Niger Delta governors and the projects they carry out.

Governor Seyi Makinde is half Niger Deltan himself, his mother being an Edo indigene who married into Ibadan.
