…. says APGA will provide true democracy, transparency if elected in 2023.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA candidate hoping to represent Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie, OSU Federal Constituency Barrister Amos Ejedegba
has assured his constituents that he will not only deliver an open, sound and qualitative representation but will equally, provide a visible and sustainable development of the huge human and mineral resources of the people, if elected into the Federal House of Representatives
come 2023.

Ejedegba made this assertion while reacting to questions from journalists in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

Speaking on his intentions and what he would do differently, come 2023, for the good people of Delta State particularly, his constituents in the OSU Federal constituency, if elected, barrister Amos Ejedegba disclosed that, his pursuit for the people will be the delivery of “true governance and transparency free of corruption.”

According to the legal expert, “it is alarming that corruption has risen to the present level considering the huge neglect at fighting it in the All Progressives Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

“However, to bring quality representation, we are going to involve everybody (the youth, boys and girls) in Uvwie, Sapele and Okpe constituencies. It is going to be a true democracy in the drive to deliver quality representation that will be the people oriented programmes and empowerment for sustainable development for self-reliance”.

Responding to questions on the presence and role of “godfathers in Nigeria’s political space” and the likely impact this may play in the emergence of a winner, Ejedegba revealed that there is no place for godfathers in APGA even as he pointed out that there are no consensus candidates in the party.

The APGA hopeful has therefore hinged his campaign on pursuing the eradication of extreme poverty, hunger and ensuring a sustainable programme for empowerments of his constituents across board. This he says, would be through achieving universal primary education, the promotion of gender equality and empower women, reduce child mortality including the improvement of maternal health care and skill acquisition.

“Our vision is the undiluted delivery of the dividends of democracy and my mission is the reorientation of the people, grassroots exposition and to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger. Basically, we will pursue a better society for the people where we plan to address crime and criminality especially among the youths in the state, particularly as it concerns OSU Federal Constituency and in the same vein, work with the relevant public agencies and stakeholders.”

Ejedegba noted that, “in ensuring a purpose driven and crime free society where the youths would be gainfully engaged, my focus is on six target areas, namely; primarily;

Engage youths on positive ventures (extra-curricular activities, such as sports and skills acquisition)

Set up community patrol. (vigilante)

Enter into partnership with the Nigerian Police Force, NPF.

Keep your neighborhood clean and tidy enlightenment campaign

Emphasize crime prevention (seminar and symposium, town hall meetings).

Tasked on the domination of the political space by moneybags who are hell bent on buying the conscience of the electorates, stressed on the need to orientate and educate the youths through adequate orientation and enlightenment campaigns, pointing out that knowledge is power.

“The youths need to know the difference between short term and long term satisfaction”, he said.
