Boko Haram Killings: Ropvil Dalep’s Family, NAPS, Hon. Gagdi Task FG To Step Up Security

The gruesome murder of Ropvil Dalep Daciya by Boko Haram in Maiduguri has continued to generate reactions and condemnations, even as citizens continue to raise fears over the dimensions which the terrorists activities in the North Eastern part of Nigeria is taking, which is capable of pushing the country into religious disharmony.

As such, the Federal Government has been called upon to step up efforts toward safeguarding lives and properties of citizens, while ensuring that the security challenges in the country are stabilized.

Head of the family of Ropvil Dalep Daciya , a 200 level Biology/Education Student of the University of Maiduguri, Da David Dachiya along side sympathizers who thronged the family house at Kofang, Miango Junction in Jos South local government of Plateau state condemned the brutal killing of Ropvil Dalep Daciya by Boko Haram which was described as shocking.

He told Journalists that he could not believe in the video released which is credited to an eight (8) year old minor who was assigned to execute
Ropvil Dalep Daciya, on ground that they are carrying out revenge on what the Plateau Christians have been doing to Muslims in the State.

“We welcome you all and thank you for your love to this family. We thank God for what has happened, because he has planned for everyone. We appeal to the State and Federal governments to do something about the security of this country. When I watched the video clip, it was quite touching.
“ It is unbelievable that an eight (8) year old boy who carried out the killing would come out in the video and tell the whole world that they want to revenge what was being done to them in Plateau state. The boy might have been instigated. And if nothing has been done about it, anybody going there might be killed”.

Also speaking, the National President, Mupun Cultural Development Association, MUCDA Pedro Mathias Dafer, and NAPS President, Hoommualak S. Sean has appealed to students and citizens to remain calm while calling on the Federal government to come to the aid of the Plateau child by stepping up security network to safeguard lives and properties.

Similarly, the Chairman of the House Committee on the Nigerian Navy and member representing Pankshin, Kanam, Kanke Federal constituency, Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, has called on the Federal government to widen its intelligence network to identify the source of funding of the activities of the insurgents, the source of their firearms, the source of their petroleum products to power their vehicles and sundry other supplies to the insurgents in their hideouts.

Gagdi in a News briefing queries the source of Boko Haram’s intelligence and how they gather information regarding the movements and plans of the military forces.

“With a heavy heart, I address you this morning concerning the deplorable state of security in our dear country and it’s devastating consequences on the lives and property of the entire citizenry, with particular reference to my constituency and Plateau state as a whole, which if not checked, will threaten the harmonious coexistence of faiths and ethnic diversities in the state.

“We woke up in the morning of Tuesday, 21st January, 2020 to the gory video of the gruesome execution of Daciya Ropvil Dalep, my Constituent, and a 200 level Biology/Education student of University of Maiduguri, who was abducted on the 9th of January 2020 by Boko Haram insurgents on his way to school from Jos.

“I want to use this medium to extend my sincerest condolences to his immediate family, Pankshin/Kànke/Kanam Federal Constituency, Mupun nation and to the government and people of Plateau State over this sad incidence. I pray God almighty to grant the immediate family of the deceased the fortitude to bear this painful loss.

“This unfortunate incident occurred while we were exploring lobbying mechanisms for Federal and State Government’s intervention for the release of one Bashir Abdulhamid, a native of Kanam LGA of Plateau State, and also my constituent, who was abducted”.
