The entirely fabricated news released by an online media, Sahara Reporters that said “The Tambuwal camp has been able to reach out to some of the aspirants”, and “have been able to get David Mark, Lamido, Dankwambo to step down for Tambuwal between today and at the convention ground tomorrow” reached the Strategy Room of the Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo’s team with as much shock as they were entirely bemused.
“It is not true at all”, Abu-Ubaida Ibrahim Kuna, the SA New Media to Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo said to The Oasis Reporters in Port Harcourt, venue of the PDP convention where the PDP will make a choice of who becomes the Party’s presidential candidate in the 2019 election
Mr Abu Ubaida Ibrahim Kuna said, “some unscrupulous individuals started this rumor because of Dankwambo’s better chances in tomorrow’s crucial contest.
“Let the world know that Dankwambo is the most loyal and committed PDP member”, he said to our reporter.
The Oasis Reporters recalls that in the build up to the 2015 general elections, all of the other candidates left the party in the lurch with many teeming up with the All Progressive Congress to ruin the People’s Democratic Party, PDP’s chances. Ibrahim Dankwambo remained in the party, fought the Buhari Tsunami and won the gubernatorial election in Gombe State.
He fought alone and won alone, when it was not fashionable to associate with the party for the fear of Buhari.
He remains the only PDP governor that returned in the entire far North and almost all of the North Central.
PDP’s name remains in the entire North because of Dankwambo’s sterling performance and resilience until the decampees started coming back recently.
Mr. Abu Ubaida Ibrahim Kuna insists that Ibrahim Dankwambo is in the race to win, as is with his culture of loyalty and steadfastness. “He’s no quitter, he won’t be stepping down for anyone.”
