‘Fayose Is A Political Enemy But Oni Is A Political Associate, Not Friend’ – Fayemi

As guest on ChannelsTV’s Sunday Politics programme, Solid Minerals Minister and All Progressive Congress gubernatorial election candidate in Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has made some revelations in the interview whereby
he called Gov. Ayo Fayose, his successor in office and his nemesis in the 2014 election as an “enemy”.
Refusing to appreciate the infrastructure put in place by Ayo Fayose, he called the newly commissioned Fajuyi fly-over bridge as a “bridge to nowhere”, yet he rode on it into Ado Ekiti.
To him, human development was better than infrastructural development, even though many residents of Ekiti State say that Fayose has successfully balanced the two, taking the state from a dismal 34th position in school certificate examinations under Fayemi in 2013 to enviable heights in the top 15 rankings.
Asked if he would consider former governor Segun Oni a man whose removal from office he contrived using the law courts, as a friend since both of them eventually found themselves in the same party as co- contestants in the primary election that saw Oni losing to him, he rather said, Segun Oni is “a political associate”.
Curiously his attention seems to be so focused on an obsession with Gov. Ayo Fayose who truncated his reelection bid in 2014. So far he has not faced the reality of the impeccable credentials of the building professor and PDP candidate in the July 14, 2018 election, Kolapo Olusola Eleka.
Ayo Fayose is concluding his final tenure in less than five months time.
