Ahead of the forthcoming 2018 International Women’s Day, Mrs. Feyisetan Fayose has charged women in Ekiti State to use what God deposited in them to press for the progress of women.
The First Lady made the charge, Wednesday, while leading women in the state in a walk from her office at Funmi Olayinka Women Centre, Fajuyi to Olukayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti in preparation for the programme slated for tomorrow, Thursday, March 8, 2018.
Speaking at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, the First Lady said 10, 000 women in the state will begin to receive credit alert from the state government today to mark the 2018 Women’s Day, affirming that Governor Ayodele Fayose will fulfil all the promises he made in promoting women.
“Governor Fayose is actually making proper efforts in empowering women; we have a woman as local government boss, vice chairpersons, local government supervisors and 40 councillors.
“The theme for this year’s Women’s Day is tagged: Press for Progress and we must devote our efforts to achieving progress,” she said.
Mrs. Fayose said if women continued to refuse to blow their trumpet, nobody will know what they can offer. She urged them to start blowing their trumpet for people to know that they are endowed endowed too, with sterling qualities that can move the state forward.
Prominent among those who trekked with the First Lady were wife of the Deputy Governor, Deaconess Janet Olusola, Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Modupe Alade, Commissioner for Works, Mrs. Funmilayo Ogun, Commissioner for Women’s Affairs, Mrs. Yinka Ogundayomi, State PDP Women’s Leader, Mrs. Yemisi Afolabi, Chairperson, Federation of Women’s Lawyers, Mrs. Adefunke Aloma, supervisors and female councillors in the state.
